Have you ever tasted Saltwater? I Gusson You Have and If So, You Will Agree with Me That It's Not Very Refreshing. In Fact, Drinking More Than A Few Cups Worth Can Kill You.

According To the United States Geological Survey, Whose Mission Is to Collect and Disseminate Reliable, Impartial, And Timely Information That Is Needed to Understand The Nation's Water Resources, About Ninety-Seven Percent of The Water On Our Planet Is Saltwater; The Rest Is Stored in Lakes, Rivers, Glaciers and Aquifers Underground. Moreover, Only About One-Third of the World's Potential Fresh Water Can Be Used for Human Needs. AS Pollution Increases, The Amount of USable Water Decreases.

Water Is The Most Preciouus and Taken-For-Granted Resource We Have On Earth. IT IS ALSO One of the Most Threatened Resources. Increased Population and Possible Climate Change Will Put More and More Strain On Supplies of this Vital Resource AS Time Goes ON. What Could We do in this Situation? Though IT May Seem Like Science Fiction, The Solution Could Lie in Outer Space.

I'm not Saying We're Going to Be Teleporting to a Spring On The Other Side of the Galaxy or Colonizing Another Planet Just to Have Longer Showers - It's Much More Mundane Than That Thank. What We Could Achieve RealistCally In This Century Is The Successful Use of The Solar System's Rare Metals and Water, Barring The Invention of the Matrix.

You May Be Surprised to Learn That The Metal In Your Keys, Coins, Cell Phone, Computer, Car and Everywhere Else, Originally Came to This Planet from Space. When Earth Formed, The Heavy Metals Sank to the Center and Formed A Solid Core. The Lighter Elements Formed The Mantle And The Crupt We Live On. Asteroids and Comets That Struck The Earth Brought Water and Metals To the Surface.

There Are Thousands of Asteroids Orbiting Near Earth. Most Asteroids Are Made Of Rock, But Some Are Composed Of Metal, Mostly Nickel and Iron. PROBES COULD BE SENT OUT TO THESE TO Identify Useful Onees. Then Larger Probes Could Push Them Towards The Earth WHERE THEY CAN BE HANDLED IN ORBIT.

In Order to Fuel Ships and Probes, We Simply Need to Find a Source of Water, Such As A Comet Or The Surface of The Moon. We Collect The Water and Pass An Electric Current Through IT From A Solar Panel. The Water Separates INTO OXYGEN AND HYDROGEN, Which in Liquid Form Is a Powerful Rocket Fuel.

Is This Really Possible? We May Soon Find Out. Private Company Spacex Has Already Started Delivery Equipment To the International Space Station (ISS).

The ISS Is Proof That Countries OnCe At Each Other's Throats, Like America and Russia, Can Work Together and Pull Off Multi-Billion Dollar Projects.

Recently, A Company Called Planetary Resources Inc. Made The News for Getting Big Names Like Google and Microsoft to Invest in Exploring Asteroids for Material Gain. Although It Will Take Many Decades, It is Wise to Put The Gears In Motion Now.

WE'VE ALREADY LANDED PROBES ON THE SURFACE OF ASTEROIDS AND TAKEN SAMPLES FROM THEM. WE CAN PUT SOMETHING AS LARGE AS THE ISS, Which Weighs Just Short of 500 Tons, According to National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), in orbit.

We can make a Half-Million-Mile Round-Trip to Get Rocks from The Moon. We can do all of these things already. They Just Need To Be AppLied and Developed in A Smart Way.

What is EGE: Figures, Facts

The Unified State Exam (EGE) is the general state certification of graduates of eleventh grades, the results of which are counted when admitted to the DSSU (secondary school) or university (higher education institution).

At the moment, the exam is carried out in 14 subjects, of which 4 are foreign languages \u200b\u200b(English, German, French and Spanish). To get a certificate, a graduate need to pass 2 mandatory exams: Russian language and mathematics. Additionally, each university independently determines which exams are obliged to pass applicants to one or another specialty. Since 2020, the EGE in English is also planning to make mandatory.

In 2016, the trial exam in English is planning to spend in early April: the oral part is the 8th and writing - the 9th number (these results are not counted). Putting the main exam will begin on June 10. If the graduate cannot take part in the certification for the facts confirmed by the facts, it has the opportunity to pass the exam later, in the reserve time.

With disagreement with the outcome of the exam, you can file an appeal - your answers will be rechecked.

After the successful examination of the exam, the participant is issued a corresponding certificate valid during the current year and the 4th subsequent years. It must be present at school for the receipt of the certificate of secondary education.

Upon admission to the university, the applicant submits an application, indicating the scores of the USE; Reception Commission checks their accuracy. At the same time, documents can be submitted no more than 5 universities in 3 directions.

According to the results of 2015, it was enough to score 22 points to pass the exam in English. However, to enter the language faculties of prestigious universities of the country, it was necessary to obtain 60-70 points according to this view of the exam (according to the receiving commissions of Moscow State University, MGLU, etc.); URWAYS UPDATED points are updated annually.

  • In Moscow an independent diagnostic center openedwhere you can pass a trial exam and OGE at any time (not only to schoolchildren, but also to parents), and you can take it as much time as it wanted.

What to take with you on the exam and how to behave on the exam

Be sure to take with you a passport and a black gel (capillary) handle.

The list of prohibited items is much more extensive: these are any information carriers (telephone, tablet, etc.), any video and audio equipment, books, abstracts and "crib", as well as proofreaders and pencils.

On the exam, you can not get up, talking - naturally, with the exception of the oral part "speaking." If you need to leave the audience for a while, you will do it accompanied by one of the examiners. The participants conduct video surveillance and any violations can be punished with a removal from the exam (and the issue of relocation will be solved on the State Commission).

EGE structure in English

The test consists of four mandatory written parts for which the rating receives a maximum of 80 points: it is "auditing", "reading", "grammar and vocabulary" and "letter".

The fifth, optional oral part, was introduced quite recently and called "speaking": it can bring you a maximum of 20 points. It is necessary to pass "speaking", even if you do not marvel in the language university: it is a rather easy way to dial additional 10-15 points (which is not so little).

Audition

9 tasks, 30 minutes

Auditation is the perception of speech on rumor. After listening to several fragments in English, you must understand what they were mentioned in them, and write a few questions in writing for each fragment. Fragments sound 2 times, the time to respond is fixed. Themes of monologues and dialogues that will be offered to audit - weather forecast, ads, television and radio programs, interviews, reports.

An error characteristic of this part of the exam: passing choose a response option in which words are most often sounding in an audio image. But correctly answering questions, not understanding the essence of what is happening, you can hardly. To better understand the meaning of the conversation, pay attention to the intonation of speaking and sounds that hear in the audio ring (the noise of the sea, the signals of cars, music, etc.). It is very important to be able to recognize in speech speaking subtext, sarcasm, which can radically change the meaning of the statement.

Preparation

Only regular listening to English speech with memorizing strangers will help.

At the first stage, it will be very useful to read-listening books voiced by the English speakers. At the same time, you must choose books adapted to your real level: pre-intermediate, intermediate and so on ..

Watching the English-speaking films "Three Touch": without subtitles, with English subtitles (with writing new words) and with double subtitles (in Russian and English). It is advisable to limit view sessions 5-15 minutes (further perception level is reduced). So that your vocabulary does not develop one-sided, try to watch diverse films: on a household topic, from the life of lawyers, doctors, scientists. And it is desirable that these were TV shows: watching several seasons for one series per day, you can up to perfection to hone the appropriate vocabulary, after which you can start the series of another topic.

A little later, it makes sense to move to listening to radonomas: without a visual series and subtitles, information is more difficult to perceive, especially if you consider the rapid pace of reporters. We recommend listening to the transfer of the BBC radio channel, because rollers for listening to the exam will be read with a British pronunciation.

Reading

9 tasks, 30 minutes

This task checks your ability to read and understand unfamiliar text without a dictionary: you should be familiar about 97% of words. And again, carefully read the task, a typical error of this part is a misunderstanding of a given question.

Preparation

All available ways to replenish the vocabulary, repeating the learned words tirelessly and try to use them in context - so they are better remembered. According to the 2016 codifier, the publications of a popular science character and excerpts from the works of fiction will be offered. Read modern network newspapers and magazines: The Guardian, The New York Times, BBC, Listverse and more. It will be very useful to deal with the reshebnik exam in English reading, analyzing the errors that you make.

Grammar and vocabulary

20 tasks, 40 minutes

In fact, it is almost the easiest to format the section of the exam. The first half of the section consists in reading small text fragments and substitut the missed words. For substitution, the proposed word must be grammatically changed (or left in its original form, if the rule requires) or select a suitable single word, for example, Absolute - Absolutely, Win - Won, Russia - Russian.

The second half assumes filling the pass in the text proposed words - the word does not need to modify, you just need to choose one of the four options. As in all tests with multiple choices, if you do not know the answer, select any atigade - there is a chance that it will be correct.

Preparation

If you know English at a good level, this section will not submit difficulties for you. No particular preparation for the format of this task is not required - it is enough to repeat the grammar of the English (and do not cease to work on the lexical stock).

Letter

2 tasks, 80 minutes

Since reading the answers from the exam forms is made using computer scanning, write the answer neatly, clearly and paralleling, with partitions to paragraphs and structuring.

Task number 1: "Letter to a friend"

Volume: 100-140 words

Imagine that you received a letter from an English-language friend and write the answer. You must understand the questions asked in the text and answer them in our "letter".

Typical errors:

  • ignorance rules for making personal letters (repeat them must!)
  • misunderstanding the essence of the questions asked
  • no answer to one questions
  • inability to correctly formulate your own questions on the indicated plan
  • non-use words-ligaments

Task number 2: Essay

Volume: 200-250 words

You are offered in writing to express the opinion of some approval on a specific plan. And again, it is necessary to read the task very carefully and in no case to deviate from the proposed plan.

Essay should be neutral style (avoid spoken expressions), connected, divided into paragraphs in accordance with the logic of the narration.

If 30% and more than your response coincides with the source (that is, in response, you use words from the "Task Condition"), the task is not counted.

How to calculate the number of words in the essay

If the above letter contains me 90 words, and the essay is less than 180, they are not counted (you will receive 0 points). If they are too long, checking the tack of only 154 words in the first case and 275 - in the second, everything else will not be checked: you can lose a farewell phrase or signature (in the letter) or output (in essay).

What are the words counting rules? All the words of the essay are taken into account, in the case of a letter - everything from the address to the signature. For one word are considered:

  • all numeral digital form (12, 2015, 10 000)
  • all brief forms and abbreviations (I'm, Don't, CAN't, USA)
  • sophisticated words (Well-Known, Good-looking, Sixty-Four)

In numerical, expressed several words, are considered to be all words (Two Thousand and Fifteen - 4 words).

Preparation

The Council is simple - write an essay. Many, on different topics. Consider words, control the connectivity of the text, do not forget to allocate paragraphs (one thought is one paragraph). Well, a teacher of English, familiar with the requirements for the task, should check your work.

Speaking

4 tasks, 15 minutes

During this part of the exam, the audio recording of your response is being conducted, which at the end of the exam is sent to the processing (verification). In other words, the role of the examiner performs a computer (but one of the exam organizers is constantly present in the audience). You see all tasks on the monitor - the time meter is displayed there.

Upon completion of the exam, all the answers are transmitted to check: each examination record is checked by two prepared specialists in single evaluation criteria.

Task number 1

In the first task you will be asked for a minute and a half to read the scientific and popular text in English - first "about yourself", and then out loud. One and a half minutes give preparation. You need to read the passage correctly, with natural intonation, without unnecessary pauses.

Task number 2.

As a second task, you are invited to read the text of the advertisement and set 5 questions to it - in accordance with the proposed plan. The preparation time is 1.5 minutes, each question should sound no longer than 20 seconds (follow the timer).

Task number 3.

Third task: Select and describe one of the three proposed photos. Time to prepare is 1.5 minutes, the answer is 2 minutes. The story must be built at the points of the proposed plan. The narrative should be logically connected and contain introductory and final phrases.

  • Recall that the connectivity to the text gives expressions of type Firstly, Secondly, Thirdly (first, secondly, thirdly), consequently (consequently), finally (finally). The topic of input words and words-ligaments need to work thoroughly.

Task number 4.

In the fourth task you are offered to compare two images. It is also extremely important to carefully read the text of the task and in the story to cover the proposed plan: for example, find similarities between the pictures and indicate the differences. A typical error - a description of each picture separately, while you need to compare, mapping two images.

The preparation is given 1.5 minutes - follow the timer to start on time and not exceed the limit of the story, which is 2 minutes. It also requires introductory and final phrases and compliance with the conjunction of the presentation.

Typical "traps" 3 and 4 parts exam - Questions like "WHERE AND WHEN" (WHERE AND WHEN), "WHO / WHY" (who / why), etc. On the second - and losing points.

  • Tip: If you notice that you made a mistake - do not be afraid. Some errors are permissible and do not affect the score, the main thing is not to be lost and do not silence at all.

The total time of this part of the exam is 15 minutes.

Preparation

Speech is the skill, and the ability to speak English should be developed. Listen to English speech and repeat the heard. Use any opportunity to chat in English: attend spoken clubs, speak English with friends. It is imperative that the interlocutor does not just listen to you, but pointed to errors and corrected, so it is very desirable to find a qualified tutor to prepare for this type of exam.

10 typical delusions when preparing for the exam in English

  1. Study exam format does not make sense: a person who fluent in English is easy to pass the exam on the highest score
  2. If you initially, your knowledge below upper-intermediate ("above average"), you do not have chances to pass the exam
  3. If you do not own oral English, it is impossible to pass the exam, since Introduced "speaking", and without it the necessary points do not dial
  4. To prepare for the exam in English can be in just six months (and even faster)
  5. Having read the advice, secrets and "lifehaki" by passing the exam, you will be ready for the exam
  6. For successful delivery, it is enough to listen to lectures and video tutorials of teachers
  7. The best way to prepare is a multiple execution of dough demoments and reconciliation of answers
  8. If the trial exam is delivered to excellent, classes can be stopped
  9. On the exam, you can make a "call to a friend" or use the crib
  10. Answers can be purchased before the exam.

And remember: it is impossible to prepare for the exam "on the night before the exam", start at least six months before delivery (and better - 1-2 years before the exam).
The English ege-2016 is appointed for June, so it is necessary to prepare for it immediately. High points!
